Bear Takes in the Sights

Black bears are beautiful wild animals that usually spend their lives in the woods. However, this adventurous yearling ended up in downtown Vancouver. Find out why.

This 100-pound black bear was scarfing down some delicious trash in the back of a garbage truck when he was taken for an unexpected ride. The truck driver did not see the bear and therefore kept on driving all the way downtown, until someone finally saw the furry fella on top of the truck. An officer with the Conservation Officer Service attempted to shoot the bear with a tranquilizer, but to no avail. He ended up attaching a syringe to the end of a long pole in order to tranquilize the bear. The bear looked to be in good health and will be released into the wild in a few days.
