Floating Chairs

Japanese design studio nendo will be displaying a collection of their works at the museum of arts and design in new york in an exhibition entitled ‘ghost stories, new designs from nendo’. the show will feature projects including; ‘fade out-chair’, ‘phantom waves’ and blown fabric.
It`s an acrylic chair that is painted with a wood grain. Its legs fade from walnut to clear so that when it is placed against any backdrop, it appears to be floating above the ground .

Origami chair

Polish designer Jakub Piotr Kalinowski has created a stool inspired by origami.
Called .ORI sto, the stool is made of folded metal and can be stacked.

Pop Bottle Benches

Using a stainless steel frame and many, many bottles, furniture designer Pawel Grunert created the SIE43 chair
The SIE43 Chair was created for Milan’s Eco Trans Pop exhibition from scores of PET bottles held together is a stainless steel frame. The phrase ’sculptural organic form’ is an overused one in the world of furniture – and objects described by it would normally have me running a mile – but it describes this perfectly and I’m still here.

Hair Chair

The PrettyPretty seating series designed by Degana Kailjo are, according to the designer, “Pretty heads to sit on.” The PrettyPretty seating series is hand made out of horsetail hair. Due to the character of the material each piece in this limited edition series is unique; they are also signed and numbered.

Troll Chair

The appearance is inspired by Dumbledore, trolls and cold winter days. The materials are Icelandic sheepskin, full grain saddle leather, and oak.
Lund & Paarmann are manufacturing the chair through their production company – Lopfurniture.

Egg Chair

The Dondolo Armchair designed by Milla Rezanova was presented at the 2009 Abitare il Tempo exhibition in Verona, Italy. From these pictures the chair looks very good, but we don’t think that it’s to comfortable. What do you think ?

Mirror Chair

Inspired by sound Brodie Neill’s Reverb chair is all hand-formed mirror-polished sheet aluminum. A highly reflective nickel surface “amplifies the tapering typology through a transition from curvaceous seat into the elliptical vortex of the back stabilizer”. Reverb was made for the The Apartment for Super Design London2009.

Blossoming Flower Chairs

The Bloom Lounge Chair by Kenneth Cobonpue is inimitable and the credit goes to its amazing flower like design. Made out of microfiber, resin, and steel, this cool designer chair is invitingly comfy. Its stitching pattern gives it a very fine finishing and the overall look would definitely revive your living area. Your neighbors are sure to envy you for having this new blooming beauty in your house.

Vertebraic Chairs

A new exceptional chair design called Atlas By Scott Jarvie was revealed on design London exhibit.Made from 4mm birch ply, the atlas chair has the skeleton like look and comes in single or dual spine. The chair definitely creates a geometric look to every home or office.Locking for a specific color you can opt to use this chair painted with their favorite color or just take it by its natural color.

$33,000 LEGO Chairs

Dutch designer Mario Minale created this Red Blue LEGO Chair made entirely out of LEGO bricks and aluminum.
The LEGO bricks make the chair 6% larger than the original iconic Red-blue chair by Gerrit Rietveld. An aluminium frame makes it possible to sit on it. Because of copyrights this chair is only available in a limited edition as an art project and is estimated to fetch between £20,000-25,000. but it provides an interesting thought on how we can create classic design by our own means.
