Gamescom is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. It is organised by the Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software. It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware.
Gamescom is the world’s largest games event with 275,000 visitors, more than 4,400 journalists and 550 exhibitors from 40 countries attending the show in its third year. It was first held from 19 to 23 August 2009. Gamescom 2011 was held from 17 to 21 August 2011. It is held on a 120,000 square meters area.’
